Still sick...

Isn't that picture charming? Something about it made me laugh so I just had to share it. (Yeah... send the hate mail to the next blog over. :)

This cootie seems to have gone into my lungs so I'll probably be wheezing and coughing for a few more days. The good news is that I got lots of sleep last night and this morning. The dog forced me out of bed at 8.30 or I'd probably still be there.

I've been remembering Thailand ~ my beautiful Khon Kaen ~ this morning ~ or perhaps just logically yearning for the comfort of "home". It makes me cease wondering how much like the rest of the animals we really are. After all, when they're sick they want to go "home", too. They curl up in their "safe place" and sleep.

That is what I will be doing the rest of the day. I'm meeting a friend for a light lunch close by, then I'll come home, watch "African Queen" for the umpteenth time and sleep some more.

Thank you all so much for leaving me well wishes. I appreciate them very much. I miss reading all of your blogs and leaving comments. Perhaps tonight I'll feel up to some "comment-making". After all, that is the greatest fun of all this.

Be well... See you all soon :)

Peace,

~Chani

Glad to hear that you are doing better...these cold bugs seem to be getting more powerful each year. I've been laying low mtself, the holidays were almost too much for me and I'm trying to recoup.

Hope you get better soon. I think our bodies slow us down by getting sick during those times we need to curl up and rejuvenate for a while. Take care of yourself.

I like African Queen also. It is such a true story in the most profound way. It is the perfect make female courtship.

I know how that guy feels. I am so glad to be in my own bed with my kleenex and my zinc tablets by my side.

Pam, I was just surprised how much this kicked my behind. Usually colds are just annoying. :)

Lucia, I believe that is totally true. The holiday season is very hard for me and I used a lot of energy keeping a "good face" on. Now my body is reacting.

Jen, that is one of the benefits of being retired. When my body says *enuff*, I get to listen. I'm grateful for that. :)

Stephen, I agree! I love that movie.. and the way the two of them relate to each other.

dmm, thanks :) I'm sure I will be all well pretty soon. Tomorrow will be the third and probably final day.

Meno, don't forget the sweat pants. :) Get well!

Thanks, everyone! I feel like I'm just taking from all of you and not offering much back right now. I'll be back to normal within the next few days. :)

Hi Thailand Gal,

Oh my. I had a similar illness last month. For 13 days it wandered from sinus to throat to lungs...and then CAME BACK again two weeks later. Pack the vitamin C so it doesn't return.

Well thank you for the heartfelt comment about the global crisis. I have been so heartened to read people's comments.

I hope you feel even better today.

Thank you for your comment on my blog - really affirmed what I'm working on there - sweet.

I just got over the cold that you describe - it DID kick my butt for over 2 weeks. Docs said she's been seeing it all over. Yuck. It just must be endured.

I love the heartbreaking and candid post about your relationship with your mom. You sound as if you've done a lot of processing this pain over the years and have come to a very healthy perspective. Congratulations to you for your growth - you have a big heart.
