Round Two.....

Well, last week it was eyes. This week it is teeth.

Can you tell I'm going through a major transformation here? New eye.. new teeth.. new weight?

I'm getting so many of these things done quickly because of my insurance situation. For the rest of the month, I have an ideal insurance situation but it will end on 5/1. While I'll still have the insurance, my copayment hits the roof. (Can you imagine? "They" say my income is too high. What?)

Today, it's the dentist and I'll get word on how many teeth will go in the (wherever old teeth go) and whether I'll have my new partial by the end of the week.

Sometimes I look back and can't believe how much I neglected these basic things. There were plenty of reasons of course but mostly it was just a result of not caring. Seriously. It just didn't matter.

This caring is a new thing for me.

After the teeth, then I start looking for a lower cost of living area, move there and wait until the appropriate time comes for me to head off to Thailand.

This plan is actually coming together.

Pinch me.

Is it real?

I am so excited for you, Chani!

Chani - Isn't it a great feeling when you put your mind to something and see the steps taking place? I am so happy for you.

I do despise the dentist, tho. Hope that all goes well.

The older i get, the more i care about my body. When i was younger, everything was going to be great forever. Yeah, right!

How exciting for you to see things starting to happen!

I'm glad you care about you now.

Gather ye toothbuds while ye may.

Where are you considering moving to next?

From reading your blog, I've been taking a little better care of myself. Ignoring things a little less. Because I pretty much trip along not thinking about potential consequences of my actions, and you've made me a little more aware. (That, and it's the time in my life where my body's making me a more aware of aging.)

Good on you for getting all this done. It IS restorative, in its way.

That's great for you. Sounds like it hurts. I hate going to the dentist. This is a good reminder of some of the maintenance things I, excersise, eating better...

Ah, taking good care of the house you live in, excellent idea. It's good to know you care about you.

I got my teeth done as well as I could and then cancelled dental coverage. It was so expensive for a retiree who has to buy his own insurance.

It's all going according to plan. I'm thrilled for you. Thank you for the posts pertaining to Virginia Tech and gun-control. Much necessary food for thought...

doesn't it feel amazing to finally step off the edge and have the net appear?

Flutter.. thanks :)

QT, I'm always amazed! So often, my plans always get derailed somehow.

Meno, I felt the same. Nothing could ever go wrong with my body! After all.... :)

Susan, I'm thinking of northern Arizona.. maybe Payson or Strawberry. The weather is temperate, unlike the rest of AZ ~ and it's rather inexpensive there.

Lucia, that's great! If reading here has led you to do that, I'm really happy :)

SM, yes.. it is. For so long, it seemed my life was out of control. It does feel good to make a plan and follow through on it without all the usual chaos.

Or maybe i'm just not allowing the chaos to stop me.

MsPea, yeah.. dentists.. I'm not crazy about them but I'd take a dentist over a doctor any day. There's something about all those secrets known by doctors that scares the daylights out of me. I have to be half dead before I see a doctor.

Sorry, KC :)

Pam, yeah.. it's a real change! :)

Anvil, that's what I have in mind, too. After I'm done with most of this, I'm going to can Medicare as well. It's wretchedly expensive. I'll just keep Medi-Cal for emergencies.

Deb... ouch! I felt that! LOL

Julie, it does seem like Thailand is closer than it used to be. God, I miss that place!

Caro, glad they spoke to you. The emphasis now is on making it go away, "closure" (I hate that phrase), "moving on". It's too fast. There's too much more to learn from all of this. Rushing the process will only guarantee that it happens again.

Tabba... me, too! :)

KC, aside from the triumph of random chance, I do think I'll get this right.

Ellie Bee, yeah.. it does. It's kind of scary because all the nets I've depended on before always had a gaping hole. :)

Crazymumma, yep! It's all preparation for going home.
