A little bit of gratitude....

This morning as I was blog-surfing, I went by De's site and found this post. Please read it to understand the origin of this button.

Every now and then, it is a good idea to take a breath and remind ourselves of the things we do for each other here in this cyber-community; the support we offer each other, the ideas we present to each other and the wisdom we pass along.

It is a wonderful thing ... something I remember living without since I am older than most who read here ... to know that such wisdom is at my fingertips. There was a time we couldn't simply sit in front of a computer monitor and gain wisdom with the click of a mouse. Those of us who were lucky enough got wisdom from our ancestors and the people who surrounded us. Some of us did not.

But we have it here. And we give it to each other freely.

It's something for which I am so grateful! Each day!

De has graciously allowed us to pass it along, so I also want to pass it along to everyone who reads here, everyone who comes by almost daily to share with me your thoughts, your ideas, your support, your wisdom and in some cases, your friendship. I am also grateful for the way you share with each other in the comments forum.

Here is the code. Remove the square brackets and replace them with carats. It links back to De's post which is the catalyst for this and, I suspect, many other similar posts that will come along.

Be sure to remove the hard breaks. :)

My gratitude to all of you. (palms together, head bowed, in sign of respect)

:)

This is lovely. The html language didn't work for me, though. I'm a Luddite.

That post of De made my day. And I'm bowing back to you Chani. Palms together and with respect.

(I'm a little younger than you but I'm grateful for the internet every single day. I remember a time when all I got were the measly books my parents had and the very tiny library in the small town where I used to live. A time when it was impossible to buy an English book in Germany, unless you knew exactly what you wanted and then everything got really complicated in the bookshop and then you would have had to wait six to twelve weeks for your book. If you were lucky. Nowadays all it takes is "click" and I can have it delivered to my door the next day.

Also I'm no longer stuck with the people that happen to live around me anymore.)

Yep. wonderful.

The other thing that struck me when reading De's explanation of why she chose the crocus as a symbol, was that it seems squirrels often come along and dig up crocus bulbs and plant them somewhere else.... So now the gratitude button will start popping up here and there!

I think frequently about gratitude - so, thank you for sharing this with us.

I've been a horrible blog friend lately...I'm trying to get caught up again. :)

Long, long ago, De was the first person to whom I ever unloaded my emotions in e-mail form. This was way before blogging. I was home alone with small children and losing my mind. So the gratitude is all mine. Blogging is such a wonderful social structure. I honestly don't know where I'd be without it. You people keep me going, every day.
