Locusts, frogs, pestilence and .....

...boils, those nasty little gifts from Satan himself! (Yeah, I know. That's not part of my religious persuasion but at this point, any port in a storm!)

Anyway, I have a boil the size of a small planet in an unfortunate location. Let's just say that I can't sit down comfortably. I'm in pain. It hurts. I'm tired. Actually, I have some comedic comments to make about the whole thing but can't muster up the energy to type them. I will though. The only saving grace in all of this is that I keep laughing about it.

I won't be posting for a few days until this blasted thing goes away!

Please! Send the rivers of blood somewhere else!

:)

Getting old ain't for sissies!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Feel better, Chani. To quote Hemingway, "It was a rotten way to be wounded."

Try compresses if you can reach the afflicted area, of slightly heated honey, which draws poisons out, held in place with gauze.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I wish I could help. I just added you to my blog roll...does that help at all? :)

Cure:

Get a needle, thread, iodyne, bandaid and mirror.

Run a lit match on the needle to sterilize.

Lance the boil. Apply iodyne, put bandaid.

Say "ahhhh ... that's better."

Get as comfy as possible and read a good book.

Susan, the honey compresses. I like that idea. At least I would draw the ants out of their hiding place. :)

Jen, I wish it was on the bum. Um. Err. Naming it, yes... I've called it a few things.. both in Thai and both vulgar.

Jack would be a better option.

Catherine, that makes me feel good, yes. Thank you. :)

Cecilieaux, oh, heavens! I'm way too chicken for that! I'd be afraid of infection. When I was younger, I did that a few times. :)

SM, thanks. Actually, it is getting better already. I predict that by Tuesday, it will be all gone.

Flutter, yeah.. a literal pain in the.... :)

Meno, go ahead and laugh! I've been laughing for two days! It is so absurd!

I have a deficient immune system.. so I get these things a lot.. but they've always chosen to sprout in a bit friendlier manner. LOL

Anvil, that's what I've been doing today. As long as I don't move, I'm fine. LOL

Thanks everyone :)

I'm so not endorsing that cure above. Warm compresses, babe.

ouch. (and as I typed that i thought of ET, and his little glowing finger. Not that you want a glowing finger anywhere near your boil, I'm sure)

Ouch, ouch! I am so sorry. I hope it vanishes pronto!

I find Tea Tree Oil is absolutely magic for pimples and boils - in fact if I cut myself it's always the first thing I run for. It's antiseptic and other a things which I can never remember.

Probably you don't happen to have it on hand, which makes things difficult. But the next time you're in a place that sells aromatherapy and essential oils, it might be worth picking up some 100% tea tree and keeping it ready just in case. ;)

I recently managed to scrape my face with a box and it looked terrible, I was upset because we were going out to dinner the next day, but one day later you couldn't see any evidence of it, thanks to the tea tree. It's a life saver! ;)

By the way, we went to a restaurant that did Thai food as well as Chinese, and I had the most amazing chicken ginger with coconut milk and lemongrass. I'd never eaten lemongrass before but I've been addicted to the smell of it lately and it was really tasty. :) I thought of you.

That hurts! I hope you'll be fine soon and it'll get better.

Take care and have a nice new week!

Jeeee - that's exactly what you needed, right? Well, I hope it disappears soon. I was just thinking, would a hot bath do any good? If not, maybe you can try and compensate in pampering yourself otherwise - that's only fair.

oh ow ow ow. Poor dear, feel better and relax if at all possible.

ouch! get better, dear.

It sounds like a pilonidal cyst. As embarrasing as it may be, I think you should take a quick trip to the clinic.

Ouchie. Hope you feel better soon. I have to say though that I did chuckle at 'size of a small planet in an unfortunate location'. At least you're still laughing.

Oh, those nasty little gems...they hurt, especially when you need to sit on them!

I'm glad you at least have your sense of humor!

The Tea Tree Oil reminded me of the all-purpose remedy in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding": Windex!

Not laughing. Trying to cheer you up.

KC, thanks. That is what I finally used. It did get rid of them. (There were two... yeeks! :)

Maypole, if that glowing finger had magical powers, I would be glad to meet with ET. :)

~*

Aliki, I hope it's over for the most part now. Jeez!

~*

Snos, I will definitely get some of that to keep around the house. Unfortunately, I get these rather frequently.

~*

Mitzh, thanks. :)

~*

DesertPea, I actually avoided the bath because I didn't want to be soaking in.. well.. that kind of water. Now this morning.. oh, yeah! I couldn't wait for a hot bath! LOL

~*

Reflecting, thanks. :) My position when I was relaxing was disgusting at best.. but at least it did provide some relief. (laugh)

~*

Christine, thank you :)

~*

Thomas, wrong location.. but I will keep it in mind in case I get one there. LOL

~*

Bohemian, there was nothing else I could do but laugh. Perhaps one day I will reveal the location.. which should provide much grist for laughter.. for everyone!

~*

Mary, it saved me.. the humor, I mean. Otherwise, I would have been over the top in just plain angriness.

~*

Cecilieaux, I'm laughing! The idea of spraying Windex there should keep me smiling for a few days! (laugh)

Peace,
