This past weekend....

(Note: Please feel free to laugh or make funny remarks. If I didn't see the humor in it, I wouldn't have posted about it. :)

Thanks for all the good wishes yesterday. :)

All is well now but I can honestly say this past weekend was one of the most miserable I've spent in a long, long time!

Worse than a toothache.

Worse than a twisted ankle.

Worse than any injury I've ever had!

I didn't want to go into much detail about the location of the boils so I will just say that girls and boys are different ~ and let you figure it out from there.

It definitely affected my mobility.

I couldn't sit down.. and if I tried, it hurt like bloody Jesus to get back up! I had to put my entire weight on my arms and lift my lower body until I could manage a standing-up position.

Then I couldn't walk!

Well, unless I walked like I'd been on a horse for the past two weeks!

I tried everything! Short of calling the Village Shaman, there's not a stone unturned in my various trials to get the darned things to go away!

Finally, I used hot compresses and I'm sure if you visualize, you can imagine what that was like! Twice a day for fifteen minutes! I'd have to manage to get the pack into the microwave, stand for four minutes while it heated up, carry it back to the bedroom where I shut the door for privacy and apply it.

As it would happen, this was a weekend with a full house, including my housemate's girlfriend. (She is the only one with whom I shared the precise details and she fell against the wall laughing. Who can blame her?)

She would forget and want me to come talk to her.

Couldn't do it!

Saturday night, I got not one wink of sleep. If I turned over, shooting pain went through my body, up through the top of my head. I finally bolstered my back with a couple of pillows and spread-eagled across the bed and read a book.

What else could I do?

So.. that was my lovely weekend at Chez Chani.

If any of you wanted to make a wild guess, how many lifetimes of karma do you think I might have worked off?

:)

OH, NO! That sounds dreadful! (Though you've made it a bit funny through your writing, I have to say -- sorry. I may have smiled, but I didn't laugh.)

And that photograph! Ouch!

glad you can laugh about it!

Hope at least it wasnt't a depressing book! ;)

Yeah, that photo is so graphic. I'm so, so glad you're feeling a little better today.

I've been fairly miserable myself, and making those around me the same, but thinking of it in terms of karma gives me a little perspective. Only two more days until we move. All this disorder in my home is tremendously upsetting.

Which book did you read? ;)

I'm with Slouching Mom - I couldn't laugh but I certainly am smiling at the mental picture you've painted with the book reading.. ;)

Tea Tree is one of my favourites, we get it really cheap here for 100% and you can buy it in the supermarket. I wish I'd known about it when I was a teenager because it would have helped with those nasty pimples.

I sure hope it's getting better, because this sounds really awful. My girl parts are cringing in sympathy.

Ouch! That surely hurt a LOT!
Hope it'll get more better as day pass by.

Just reading about it made me cringe.

Take care, Chani!

I had one of those, in a very similar spot, once.

It's not about getting old. That friggin thing hurt SO bad, I hope it um, goes away soon

Chani - wishing you a speedy recovery. I used to get a cyst in a very unfortunate spot - right wher the elastic goes for your underthings, between my groin & my thigh. There was no way to walk around without material pulling on it. I finally got it removed - what a relief!

Take care of yourself, friend.

Oh dear girl, I am so sorry to hear of your misfortune. I have no idea how to cure that particular ailment, but I'm sending healing thoughts your way.

Hugs,
Laurie

They way you describe it, I would say that picture is a perfect match!

I bet your weekend was worth a few lifetimes indeed but I'm also convinced that all these people thinking of you must have helped in making it go away ...

A more interesting question than "How much Karma did you burn off?" is, "What did you do to deserve it?"

It must really be ba-ad...

;o)

So, when someone tells another they are the boil on the bum of life, it really is a painful ugly thing to say?

Sorry for your painful weekend. As Meno said, my girl parts are cringing for you.

You're feeling better, I trust?

Boy I hope you feel better. That's just awful. I'm certain you're burning karma....

Lots and lots of karma. Don't look back. So glad it's over.

I couldn't read this without drawing my legs together tightly either. Ouch.

I really don't see the humor in pain, but it was thoughtful of you to try.
