Serenity

Our life is shaped by our mind; we become what we think. Suffering follows an evil thought as the wheels of a cart follow the oxen that draws it.

Our life is shaped by our mind; we become what we think. Joy follows a pure thought like a shadow that never leaves. --

--The Dhammapada

Be Yourself. Life is precious as it is. All the elements for your happiness are already here. There is no need to run, strive, search, or struggle. Just Be. - Thich Naht Hahn

You can use your life in a very useful and intelligent way. You can very well transform that negative energy into a positive energy that empowers you and makes life meaningful. - Thich Nhat Hanh

If you are motivated by loving kindness and compassion, there are many ways to bring happiness to others right now, starting with kind speech. - Thich Nhat Hanh

Just a few peaceful thoughts for the day ~ given that this will be a day filled with angry thoughts, sadness and thoughts that are intended to instill fear. Carry these thoughts with you.

Wishing that all beings will be free from the causes of suffering.

"Our life is shaped by our mind."

And our mind, in turn...is shaped by life, yes? In other words, our experiences (reading quotes from The Dhammapada, for example!) impact the direction our mind takes.

The chicken, or the egg?

These are great thoughts, Chani. Some are easy to follow, others are more difficult but well worth keeping in mind - especially in difficult times ...

Thank you, Chani, for these lovely antidotes to the sadness and helplessness this anniversary brings forth.

Thich Nhat Hanh reminds us that we are more powerful than evil if we but choose to be, and that we can change our own corner of the world for the better every day.

One of my clients flew to Boston to see Thich Nhat Hanh just a couple of weeks ago and she has brought such kernels of wisdom back. True heart wisdom. Thanks for the word blossoms tonight.

You bring 'kind speech' Chani.

Thank you for reminding me that one can move through the world with a different state of mind.
