Quirkyishness....

Well, it is getting really close to time for me to leave. A friend is coming to pick me up to take me to the airport tomorrow.

That means I won't be annoying ~ I mean visiting ~ all of you again until Friday or so. Even then, it will be questionable how much I will be able to visit and comment.

I'll try though. If anyone wants to get ahold of me for any reason, I will be on my yahoo account. Thailandchani at yahoo dot com.

Meanwhile, tell me something quirky, funny or interesting about yourself in the comments section. Anything you like. I have a reason for asking this which I will make clear when I get back.

I hope all of you have a wonderful week.. :)

How about that picture immediately made me think about how hungry I am and how much I want some red cabbage with balsamic vinegar and gorgonzola?

oh the pressure to come up with something quirky!

i still don't quite feel at home in my long limbs, and they will often bump into things or people

When I was little my best friend was a tree. I would sit in it and sing to it and at night I would dream about sitting high up in its branches and swinging in the wind.

Have a wonderful trip. I will miss you.

Before I blow my nose, I have to get 2 tissues, make sure the edges match up perfectly and are smoothed out. I then fold over the top edge 3/4 of an inch (not a half-inch, not a full inch...3/4). It is then ready for use. I don't know why I have to do this, I just do. It makes my partner double over with laughter whenever he catches me doing it.

Quirkily yours,
Rebecca

p.s. I'll be waiting to read posts of your journey. Blessings!

Well, I'm not feeling quirky or funny this morning, but I surely wish you well on your trip.

I was afraid to light a match until I was fifteen and it was my turn to light the Advent wreath in my tenth grade classroom. I did it with hands-a-trembling. I also don't know how to pump fuel without holding the pump in place with my hands.

I hope you have a wonderful and restorative trip, Chani!

This is weird - I blow my nose the same way as Rebecca. I have a cousin Rebekah. Hmm.

I think that cabbage is amazingly beautiful.

Let's see. I realized that I get more satisfaction from the destructive part of a project than from the rebuilding or creating part. (e.g., I like taking off the wallpaper, but I dread the painting. I think this is because I will be critical of the end result.)

When I was a teenager, I used to type words with an even amount of letters on an imaginary keyboard, to see if the left and right hands would get to type equal numbers of letters.

I know that sounds very OCD. I don't do it any longer. However, all of that pretend typing made me very accomplished on my real keyboard.

Safe journey.

I see cabbage.

Enjoy your journey. :)

I can't swallow pills very well and I often dream of dead people. The dreams are not scary, but the pills are.

Have a beautiful, safe trip, Chani! You're homeward bound because you answered your soul's call. We should all do that more often.

I'm so happy for you, and waiting to hear about it.

I blow my nose while on the toilet so that I can multi-task. Safe travels.

Have a heavenly journey.
Now, something weird about myself -- so much to choose from and so little space to offer them all.
I have a tendency to try to crack people up at solemn occasions, like funerals. Relieves the tension, I guess. Sort of like Mary Richards going into hysterics at the service for Chuckles the Clown.

The cabbage looks like Joan of Arc, going up in beautiful Peter Max-like purple flames.

I like to organize things. Not events, things. Everything should have a place.

Safe travels, Chani - I cant wait to hear some stories.

Something quirky about me...that cabbage reminds me of coleslaw, something I love to put on sandwiches instead of lettuce. Mmmm.

I just wrote about this on my blog, but since you're looking for weird quirks...

Since I've been pregnant, I crave the feeling of mud, clay, or wet cement through my fingers. (And no, I don't want to eat it!)

Quirky? I must sleep with a blanket that has satin edging. I refer to said blanket as a "stuff blanket." And now I have outted myself to the entire blogosphere...which is even quirkier. Have a good trip....

I used to spend many hours as a child talking to a triceratops skeleton at the American Museum of Natural History. Admission was free, and I'd often stop by the skeleton on my way home from the bus stop and tell the dinosaur about my day.

Have an amazing and restorative trip!

I wanted to become a clown and almost went to clown college. I suppose it's a good thing I didn't since all the latest polls prove 90% of kids think clowns are creepy.

Oooh ooh! You've gotten so many responses! Let's see...

I can't smell roses. Not one; not once. No one believes this. I tell them I can't smell roses and they will thrust their bouquet in my face and say "but these smell so strong! you must be able to smell THESE!"

No. I can't. I don't have the faintest clue what I'm missing. *sigh*

I had a goat for a pet when I was a child... Her name was Bambi

It lives in our house which annoys my grandma so much...

Have a wonderful and relaxing time, Chani!

Random conversation with a stranger:

My sister: It sure is hot outside.
Random lady: Well, that's God for ya.

Safe travels. Much joy.

I'm so excited about your trip, you'd think I was going! I can't think of anything quirky about myself right now. Must be denial. :)

You are going! Yay! So excited for you. Have a fantastic trip. Oh, and I love that photo of the cabbage.

Something quirky? When I go grocery shopping at Safeway, my alias is Gunta. It has to do with the frequent shopper cards (which I hate). Anyways, at Safeway, it's linked to your phone number, so instead of carrying the card around, you can simply give your phone number. When I started using my phone number, Gunta's name started appearing on my receipts. She must have had my phone number before me. I have no idea which phone number I had when I signed up, so I've just decided to be Gunta every time I enter a Safeway.

Have a great trip!

The cabbage photo is gorgeous - especially love the inside roots of it.

I used to perform Singing Telegrams. One of my characters was a preggo gram -in which I made a fool of some poor man by creating a scene and divulging that he had knocked me up... usually in front of a crowd of people.

Oh. I had no idea you were going anywhere since I haven't been here in a few days. Well then that gives me time to catch up! Have a safe trip home, friend.

I forgot tell you something quirky! hmmm let's see...I have every single fortune cookie paper slip from every fortune cookie I've ever eaten collected in a little box with some shark teeth. :O)

i sleep with my childhood stuffed animal--a green and pink octopus.

Well, and this is quirky itself, I was thinking of what to say as I was reading people's comments and the fear of swallowing pills that lasted until I was in my late teens came to mind. That and some of the ways I am "shown" things, how I "know" stuff...and then I read Heartsy's comment and sharply drew in breath.

I'd like to say this is the first time I've had this happen when reading her words but it's not and it is really starting to grab my attention...big time. Interesting phenomenon. I wonder what it means.

SO GLAD YOU'RE WHERE YOU ARE!

Sending light.

How about this: I have a sense (though it was much stronger as a child) that certain numbers are male, while others are female.

THAT was cabbage?

My quirkyness would be seeing a half round head of purple cabbage as a woodland forest of half purple magenta trees forming a covered pathway for the lopsided-eared woodland white bear to follow while foraging for dinner.

That was cabbage huh?
