They can't be serious....

So John McCain said Barack Obama is a decent guy, a good family man and an all-round fine fellow in response to some ignorant woman who called him an "Arab" and that makes McCain a candidate for sainthood?

I can't believe it!

The sad thing is that if it weren't so utterly pathetic, it would be comical!

I was reading some articles about polls, etc. this morning.

The name calling, epithets, etc. is really pushing me over the brink. This guy is a known rageaholic. How can anyone trust someone like that to run the country?

Anyone.

I'm embarrassed to say that this hadn't occurred to me, Chani. Cripes. I'm more sucked into the mainstream than I realized. Thanks for snapping me out of it with this one.

Like my husband pointed out, McCain said that "you don't have to be scared of Obama as president". By saying that, MC planted the seed of associating fear with Obama. The brain takes that in. Mc's handlers are very smart - not nice, but smart.

I think that this is beyond pathetic. It is ugly.

The anti-intellectualism in the US right now is so dismaying.

Heartbreaking, even.

When did being educated/intelligent/thoughtful become a bad word?

Why is Sarah Palin drawing the crowds she is?

Last night I commented to my husband that Germany must have looked something like this in the late twenties and early thirties, with its citizens ready, in fact eager, to ride whatever new and shiny boat came along to save them from their less-than-stellar circumstances.

Tragically, when the boat showed up, Hitler was at the helm.

I'm just a tad bit frightened with what could possibly happen Nov. 4.

I signed a letter to McCain and Palin written by Color of Change.org to the effect that their goading their supporters into shouting "Kill Obama" and "terrorist," etc. undoes all the progress toward racial equality we have fought for over 50 years and must end.

If McCain is a saint, then I am a graven image.

Have you seen this? It's the woman on the record saying that she volunteers for the Republican party and has been sending out letters stating that Barack Obama is an Arab Muslim. It made me sick.

Another thing that bothers me is that to say, "Oh no he's not an Arab, he's a decent family man." Does this mean that a decent family man is the opposite of an Arab? Nobody's picked up on this and I don't mean to say I think McCain thinks that it just didn't sit right with me.

In the MSM I meant to add. But then I expect very little from the MSM anymore.

exactly what Ruth said. When I heard his response, "No he's not, he's a decent man." I was completely offended. By that logic he's blatantly saying an Arab can't be a decent person? niiice, dude. Nice.
