Sacred Life Sunday: You Say You Want An Evolution....

This morning was very pleasant. Simply pleasant. I went to the park for a long walk, MP3 player securely in my ears, listening to New Age music.

I was lost to the world. However, I did notice that people were a bit more upbeat, smiled a bit easier and said "good morning" a bit more freely.

Naturally, I think it's the Obama Effect.

Everyone seems a bit more hopeful.

Have you noticed this?

Totally! It's really unique in my experience. Even I feel upbeat and that is not my usual state!

Not here! This area was overwhelmingly for McCain. But I certainly am feeling it.

I've noticed it on-line. Unfortunately the bears up here in our parks don't smile much, they only bare teeth on the way to eat you!

Many of my friends and family members are exultant about the results, but I haven't interacted with enough strangers in the last few days to notice any changes. It wouldn't surprise me, though.

Even here in "almost McCain country" you can feel the positive vibes!

Interestingly, reading the first lines of your post...I was about to ask in my head...Obama effect? Then, there, you wrote it! :)

I'm sorry to say I am more depressed and cynical than ever.

I think it's because I had high hopes after the Democrats took control of the House and Senate two years ago, and then had those hopes smashed over and over again.

I'm not so quick to celebrate this time. In fact, I feel like I'm being set up for another crushing fall.

I have read of so much hope, joy and empowerment felt by young people. Even if things don't work out for long - as Thomas predicts will happen, and I won't be surprised, because nothing surprises me anymore - I think and I HOPE that the empowerment realized this November will aid us in the future.

I think we are just so happy that we smile more, say hello more, and well, such stuff is infectious. People always respond to that. we are generating it. Wow, can we really transform the world? I'm game!

Yes. AND... I can't help waiting for some other shoe to drop. I haven't the first idea what the fear's about. maybe just me.

Yes!! I dont live in America, but i have had the distinct feeling of hope falling like still dews from the eaves.... surprising me... with the distinct fragrance of peace,

Call it... the Obama effect, the butterfly effect or the circle of love...

The world seems a little less tired lately,

With love, M

unfortunately in my conservative corner of the world the obama effect seems a bit different - I am all happy and smiley, but there are some pretty sullen faces around me

Lovely dats are meant to spent in the park, I think. That alone makes me more hopeful.
