Rainy Sunday Afternoon

It's been a while since I've posted here. Frankly, there's not much to say lately. Since I decided to lay down arms, there doesn't seem to be the same need to spew my thoughts and feelings all over the Internet.

It's rainy here and I love every minute of it. Since my thinking has been as shallow as a parking lot puddle lately, I admit to hoping the rain lasts through my birthday tomorrow. It would be a nice little gift from the cosmos.

I've been reading "The Great Awakening: A Buddhist Social Theory" and find it very interesting. It keeps my brain from turning into a bowl of mush. On the other end of the spectrum, I've been gobbling up Sue Grafton books. Occasionally it's worthwhile to get lost in a predictable but well-written story. I've also been watching rather mindless TV ~ such as "The First 48".

There doesn't seem to be much going on politically right now to discuss. Obama has done some things I like ~ and some I don't. Does anyone else notice that it looks like he's aged five years in the past week?

Since my head is an empty vessel, this would be a good time to ask any questions you might have. I'll create posts out of my answers. :)

Hope everyone is doing well ~ and I'll be back when I have something to say.

Happy, happy birthday, Chani!

I hope your personal New Year brings you every joy and fulfills your fondest dreams in the months ahead.

Last year you were in Thailand at this time. I guess you can't win 'em all.

A healthy and happy year to you.

Rain! My secret is that I sent some your way.

Happy, happy birthday, may it be filled with gentle experiments to see what the Universe brings your way. Even if you're alone, may your thoughts be opening!

Love, O

*sings* Happy Birthday to you....

Where is it you live geographically Chani?

I have not noticed but I am by no means surprised at the aging process of presidents. I was looking at the day Bush was told of the tower attacks and oh my he looked young, but he had not been in office long.

If I never wrote on my blog because there was not anything in my head, I'd never post..LOL

Happy Birthday, Chani!

As to questions, well, I'd have to ask what is it that you don't like about Obama's decisions. I for one am shocked to shit that he's done so much. And the media up here is reporting that he hasn't done much, all the while reporting what he has done.

Yes, he has aged. Makes me sad, that the country needs so many fixes, and quite frankly many of them are on his shoulders right now.

Love the image at the top of the post.

Happy birthday, oh serene one! :)

Nice to know someone who finds comfort in rain. It's one of those things that I don't handle all that well. Come to think of it, I don't like winter, wind or rain. I have defintely been born, raised and lived in all the wrong places! I like it lushly green, low on humidity, and warm. Now where exactly should I be living? Now there is a post idea: where should I be living?

Well. I could SWEAR that I posted a comment here hours ago, but it looks like I forgot to hit the "Publish" button or something.

Let's see... what great things did I say???

Oh yeah...

Happy Birthday to YOU! I'm glad that you are getting rain.

I am also not having much to say and I'm really liking that.

My questions: I would like to hear about your spiritual journey. Were you raised with any kind of religion? Did you believe it? If you did, I'm assuming that your path has changed since then. Can you tell us about that journey? (Maybe you've already written all of this, before I found your blog. If so, feel free to ignore my questions or to just point me in the direction of those posts.) Thanks!

This means I missed your actual birthday, but offer you a heartfelt belated! I hope it was a good one for you. I'd be interested in hearing more about the book you're reading, Chani. Feel like doing a review?
