"Just because i have a blog doesn't mean i have to blabber."

So true. i wish more people would take that up as a motto.

I love this, and I am a little freaked because our handwriting is eerily similar~

ah. and I look forward to having you up this way. it really is a beautiful bubble up here, you know?

this is utterly beside the point, but you have the most beautiful, compelling handwriting!

i see a handwriting meme arising out of this note.

i love seeing your writing by hand.

Nobody could ever accuse you of blabbering, Chani.

I love the idea of a handwritten note as long as it isn't written by me as my penmanship is quite ugly. Keyboards are a godsend.

Enjoy your quiet day because like every day, it will never come again.

Peace to you, too. (You would not want to see my handwriting.)

Meno, I know! Sometimes I just have absolutely nothing to say! Those are the times this site is a royal pain in my.. um...

QT, hmmm... I'd like to see yours some time. Mine is all messed up from having studied Russian. The instructor made us write so much that my handwriting was very influenced by it.

~*

Defiantmuse, absolutely! It will be wonderful! I'll probably ask you all kinds of stupid questions until I get used to the place. :)

Sarah, thank you. :) As for a meme, I doubt that many people will notice it. It's an interesting idea though to encourage others to post handwritten notes. I'd love it!

Jen, thank you.

Susan, oh.. I blabber. Luckily, I just don't do it on the blog. :) And I'll bet your handwriting is pretty.

~*

Citizen... yes I would. :)

Chani... another thing we have in common - my handwriting is also messed up from having studied Russian! My writing changed when I was writing a lot in cyrillic script and it never came back.

I hope this was a restful day.

I don't know how you found my blog -- you left a comment on it this morning -- but I'm very glad you did.

Reading your blog this evening, it feels like coming home, sitting round the fire with warm tea and finding the little bits of truth I've been searching for.

Can I link to your blog?

Humboldt. Nothing in nature is so like a cathedral as being among the Redwoods.....Your writing is just as I would have expected it to be....very assured and assertive!

JenA2, isn't it amazing how that happens? Our instructor used to have us write at least couple of pages a day. My writing has never been the same since!

Savannah, of course you may. Thanks for asking. Private note to you on your site. :)

M, thank you. :)

Flutter, thanks. The thing is that I can't draw anything that doesn't look one-dimensional and childish. :) I'm not visual at all. There's no way I could do the things you do.

Angeline, thank you. Just in case you come back to read replies, I wanted you to know I *am* reading your site. When I try to leave a comment, my system freezes up. Very heavy page load.

I didn't want you to think I'm ignoring you. Your posts are very enjoyable!

Molly, no joke! I am really looking forward to Humboldt after ten years of this urban hellhole.

Gee, that was assertive, wasn't it? LOL

Wow Chani, thank you for this intimate, personal touch. Makes you so much more real to me!

I love your handwriting. It's charismatic and artsy.

Love the message, too.

Thanks.

thailandchani said...

Brandi, thanks. :) I'll bet yours would be really pretty! (hint hint)

~*

Suki, oh.. I'm real! :) There are probably plenty who wish I was otherwise!

~*

Mary, thanks. :) I like the fact that it looks artsy.. because I'm not! I'm so out of touch with that part of me - and don't have any artistic talent that I'm aware of.

Nothing like your photography, you know? Gods, your site is so beautiful!

Chani, are you moving? Going back east? Please write. Love, O

RKK said...

I can only repeat what everyone seems to agree on: Beautiful handwriting. Refreshing post.

thailandchani said...

Olivia, yes... I am eventually moving to Thailand.. for good. Meanwhie, I would like to wait it out in Humboldt.

~*

RKK, thanks. :) I've always thought my writing is really hard to read.. but maybe it's okay after all. No one wrote in to say they couldn't read it. :)

I love this. The idea of it, your handwriting, how unexpected it was. Beautiful.

kristen said...

you have beautiful penmanship and i love the setting of your letter.

i also wish that letter writing were more in fashion - i loved getting letters in the mail and have tried to be a better letter writer, but I usually quit.

i think i'll try this, thank you for the idea.

Janet said...

I loved this. Funny, but as I cooked dinner yesterday I got to thinking about a stack of letters my dad has in his possession, love letters from my grandfather to my grandmother, and what a true gift they are; a glimpse into the past. Then I started wondering if we are losing that ability to write a decent letter. Millions are tapping words into their keyboards, messaging, emailing, texting in some truncated language. But when is the last time you received a hand written note from somebody?

Aliki2006 said...

I haven't stopped by in awhile, my apologies--but coming by tonight and seeing that soft, fluttery note was beautiful.

I've followed your comments for longer than I can remember, always kind, insightful and leaving me wishing you;d find your way to me. I am so glad to come here for the first time and see your handwriting, such an intimate thing in this context.

It is exactly as I would have expected, beautiful.

What a wonderful way to stumble across your blog. Writing by hand takes more effort, and makes us more careful with our words. what a lovely reminder.
